D0ug H@rrell - 1957 - Exsanguination Blues and Hospitality Blues
Exsanguination Blues/Hospitality Blues
In May of 1955 a group of Medical Students at the University of North Carolina Medical School were preparing skits for the annual Student-Faculty Day program.
A 3rd year student (now an M.D.) by the name of Doug Harrellwrote and presented with the aid of his fellow students a monolouge entitled "Exsanguination Blues." Harrell had the show recorded and it caused such a favourable comment that a recording company became interested.
The company asked Harrell to come up with another monolouge and he wrote "Hospitality Blues" The recording was issued in 1956 and became an instantaneous sucess.
The record was put out by Colonial Records, which had a lot of success with comedy records. Doug also released an L.P. in 1960 entitled "Laugh a Spell with Doug Harrell".
